Description: NGC's provenance to the enigmatic (at first glance) "Nordic Hoard" references a famous hoard of gold coins held in reserve by Norway during World War II. In order to keep them out of Nazi hands, the coins were transferred first to the Bank of England, and thereafter to Canada for safekeeping, although this venture was complicated by the fact that the axis armies had already occupied Norway, and dogged the movement of the gold treasure during it's travels. Examples of the Swedish coins chronologically listed here includes only gem (MS-65) pieces certified by NGC, as follows: 1874ST 10-kroner, 1890EB 20-kroner, 1898EB 20-kroner, and 1901EB 10-kroner. Although the gold content and high grade of each piece creates much of the allure, the history represented deserves to be remembered for this four coin lot.
