Description: The F. Raphael Collection. What NGC refers to as "damage" amounts really to a minor surface scrape in the lower right quadrant, and it hardly seems like a necessary disclaimer for a gold coin that has survived close to 700 years. Legends are quite well centered on the side presented as the "obverse" within the slab, while the "reverse" centering favors the top by a modest amount. The uneven strike is quite typical for the primitive technology that struck English gold of this era.
