Description: VAM-2 can be identified by doubling at the top of the "6" in the date, as well as a tiny die chip attached to the top of the left branch of the wreath. 1896-S represents a familiar difficult issue within all contemporary silver series, and is certainly a semi-key for a Morgan dollar collection at or above MS-63(+). Traces of darker rim toning project inward from the obverse right while the reverse shows only a delicate hint of amber near a minority of the extreme periphery.
