Description: Gavin "John" Rose Collection. B-6, BB-255. 2 graded AU-58, 7 higher at PCGS. One has to "interpret" population reports sometimes, as it isn't always clear what varieties might be included or excluded from "the pops". Add to that the confusion of non-reported upgrades, resubmissions and the like, and the story can become cloudy indeed, but suffice it to say that any 1803 dollar at the pinnacle of the about-uncirculated grade offers something to become very excited about. Exceptional detailing within Liberty's hair takes full advantage of excellent contrast between silvery highpoint color contrasting well with the beige-tan patina in the immediate surrounding field area. Some slate-grey accents clinging to the rim propagate into the stars and frames the lighter central areas.
