Lot Title: 1794 and 1795 Talbot Allum and Lee Cents in Capital Plastics holder
Lot Number: 310
Description: The Talbot, Allum and Lee token was probably designed by Thomas Wyon and can bear the date of either 1794 or 1795, as is denoted by this Capital Plastics pairing. The tokens were denominated as "one cent" and weigh on average about the same as a contemporary regal British halfpenny. Presented here is a 1794 example that should grade Fine or so, struck on a decent planchet, while the 1795 should easily meet AU parameters, and even offers tantalizing hints of mint red. Two coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
