Description: An astonishing error, the half-dollar motifs are actually surprisingly well brought up despite the impossibility of a dime planchet providing enough thickness for high-relief design elements. The first two digits in the date barely make enough present on the flan to be recognized, and it might be suggested that the third is an "8", although that is guesswork based on the age of the dies; the mint used their dies to near-extinction in striking 1980s Kennedy half-dollars.
