Description: Having been struck for only three years, the type-2 gold dollar always serves as a challenging type for gold coin collectors. Still, although 1855 likely represents the most common extant emission for the series, all issues become quite expensive in any mint-state grade. This so-called "slider" exhibits essentially mint-state characteristics, and there are zero distractions -- aside from a grader's hair adhering to the extreme left side of the obverse.
