Description: The 1921 Peace dollar can easily be found in circulated grades, and even lower mint-state pieces are relatively available. At MS-64, the issue is underrated simply because the entire series remains vastly unappreciated and languishes in near-anonymity. Delightful, shimmering swoopy bands of luster illuminate the portrait for this blazing example that seems well-qualified for gem consideration at first glance. A solitary contact mark rests just next to the exact center of the portrait, and the familiar striking weakness always seen leaves the middle of each side slightly soft. Platinum-blonde patina layers the obverse, while the reverse features strong, richly tinted grapefruit-gold color.
