Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1882-CC PCGS MS-65
Lot Number: 784
Description: VAM-2A1 is considered a "Hit List 40" VAM, and attribution begins with identifying the top of a misplaced 1 beneath the first 8 in the date. This is a very desirable die-state as well, struck prior to extensive die polishing that erased much of the MPD. While this is all good and well for the VAM enthusiast, many collectors will become instantly attracted by the utterly astonishing eye-appeal that arises from the presence of a brilliant, vivid (and rare) double-rainbow across 40% of the obverse. The reverse itself displays an extremely attractive though more subtle double-rainbow crescent along the right. The cumulative of this exquisite effect on not one, but both sides, should instantly place this Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award winner on every toning enthusiast's list, especially given the gem quality identified by PCGS.
