Description: Roman Powers Collection. O-101 matches up the 1827/6 obverse die with a reverse die showing a tine attached to "C" in the denomination. Stars mostly rise up in strong relief, and finely delineated hair definition suggests a details grade near the top of the AU range, but light, feathery hairlines occasionally dart across the portrait and preclude a straight grade at NGC. Still, even if the surface has been modestly cleaned, it has recovered very well, with some strong album toning evident on the reverse, along with subtle pastel iridescence distributed within the flowline luster pattern.
