Nicely stored in a Whitman album, the following note worthy examples are noticed: an 1857 (XF), an 1858 Large Letters (VF), an 1858 Small Letters (XF+), an 1859 (XF), an 1860 (XF), an 1862 (VF), an 1863 (XF), an 1864 CN (XF, stained), an 1864 Bronze (GD), an 1864-L (GD), an 1865 (VF+), an 1866 (AG+), an 1871 (XF, corrosion), an 1873 (VG), an 1874 (VG), an 1877 (AG), an 1883 (XF+), an 1885 (VG+), an 1888 (XF+), a 1906 (AU), a 1908-S VF++), a 1909 (XF+), and a 1909-S (F). Only the ever scarce 1856 Flying Eagle and 1869/8 Indian Head are not present in this outstanding collector’s grade set (ck).
