Description: Moderately abraded and showing the poorly struck central areas as is nearly always seen for the very tough 1918-S. All devotees of the series know that these tended to be practically "struck in VF grade", such that the slightest trace of circulation immediately debilitates any otherwise "new" example into the mid-level grades. A substantial die crack threatens to separate the uppermost feather.
