Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1927-S PCGS MS-65
Lot Number: 864
Description: 64 graded MS-65, 47 higher at PCGS. Aside from the inaugural 1916, 1927-S represents the low mintage mark for the series, making the date an undeniable key to the series. This example was taken off of clashed dies and probably had little to no chance of receiving a full strike, but it also did not take on a scoop head as is frequently seen for the date. Fabulous satin luster predominates, endowed with a pleasing level of eggshell white hue, splashed with occasional bronze-gold around the eagle. A couple of trivial nicks beneath "Y" in LIBERTY appear to be basically the only discernible abrasions.
