Description: 15 graded MS-66+, 7 higher at NGC. "Sensational" perhaps begins to describe this astonishing San Francisco half-dollar that is downright rare at both major grading services. In high grades for one version of the short set, 1935-S is the second key at the highest grade levels, barely trailing 1934-S for top honors.

Stunningly well preserved, the obverse right field does not show even a scant disturbance, being as perfectly preserved as the gorgeous, pristine reverse. That said, even at the (virtually) superb grade level, one will expect a 1935-S to have limited central sharpness as is seen here While part of the thumb and most of the hand are outlined, they are not fully formed, as always. The head does feature some intricacies, and unlimited mint luster gleams from both sides at a level befitting of the superb grade.
