Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1921-D NGC MS-61
Lot Number: 824
Description: Recession followed the end of World War I and resulted in low emissions worldwide for coin mintages, creating many highly coveted dates across multiple series. The 1921-D half-dollar is a classic example since a paltry 208,000 were struck. This example suggests a very decent strike for a date known for poorly detailed examples, although that is much because most circulated heavily. The assigned MS-61 seems about a point low despite two small, sharp abrasions in the obverse right field as well as trivial roll friction down Liberty's torso.
