Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1921 PCGS MS-63
Lot Number: 822
Description: 100 graded MS-63, 203 higher at PCGS. One of the three true keys to the series, preempted by 1921-D and falling just ahead of 1921-S with an impressively low mintage of 246-thousand pieces. Not only is this a fabulous example at MS-63, the high grade also permits a specialist to appreciate the mint's challenges as the dies were heavily clashed, and then clumsily relapped, creating extensive die polish around IGWT. Fragile steam-grey patina layers over this near-brilliant coin and the total number of contact marks can practically be counted on two hands.
