Description: Well recognized as a very difficult date and mintmark combination in grades above Fine, the 1917-S "obverse" would be tough to represent with a nicer piece despite the NGC caveat of "artificial toning". Nobody is likely to be offended by the rather pastel coloration that doesn't really seem crazy, but appears merely to be displayed in an unusual pattern.
