Lot Title: 1845 ANACS MS-62
Lot Number: 541
Description: Positive Thoughts Consignment. Mintage: 24,500. Either side of this impressive, very-select dollar has become somewhat blanketed in russet-grey and lavender tones, a little mottled in appearance yet generally original in appearance. The design elements received an outstanding strike from the dies, showing a mere whisper of softness at Liberty's head while individual feathers within the eagle's wings are finely delineated. Relatively few abrasions filter over the obverse, but the field over the eagle's head displays a more generous helping of minute sliding nicks and bagmarks. The cataloger could find no population reference for ANACS, but by measure of comparison, NGC and PCGS combined have certified only about ten pieces at MS-62, surpassed by no more than ten additional at higher grade.
