Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1802/1 Narrow Date PCGS VF-20 (green label)
Lot Number: 538
Description: Hall Of The Mountain King Consignment. Bolender-4, BB-232 (R.3). Five of the seven obverses for 1802 are overdated dies, but in combination, the overdates are scarcer than normal date coins. Regardless, finding an original example adds to the challenge for collectors as so many have been mistreated over the centuries. Here is a pleasing example that has entirely escaped cleaning, which allows a couple of grey streaks to remain on the obverse in conjunction with marvelous tan-grey and pearl patina. A small dig in the obverse right field and one small carbon flake are the only other anomalies worth mentioning.
