Description: Mintage: 20,000. The 1858-O should be far more rare than it actually is, except that a Jacksonville, Mississippi hoard was allegedly discovered in the 1990s and brought some moderately circulated examples to the market. This may be one such, as it exhibits almost thick golden brown patina near the edges and plentiful brassy hue otherwise -- possibly slightly thinned by conservation. Bold details and a fairly ample supply of obverse circulation marks.
