Description: McCloskey-D, head of 1835, Breen-6143. A die crack on the obverse arrows toward 11:00 and helps to identify this relatively available die-marriage. As evidence of 1836 frequently standing in for type, more of this date were struck than the rest of the Classic Head series combined! Extensively frosted, this blatantly choice coin features hints of flash within the fields and a notably sharper strike over an average example. One diminutive shiny contact mark lays on Liberty's neck, while otherwise, there are no marks worthy of note, although delicate hairlines dart in and out of the fields.
