Description: The note depicts the third design used in this most-popular series for Canada. Although bearing a date of "Jan 2nd, 1902", these were not released to circulation until 1911, and only a year later, the Canadian government decided to withdraw them in favor of the newer $5 denomination. Their near-disappearance by the mid-teens created a very difficult collectable with the present VF30 considered a relatively high grade.
