Description: Bert Davies Collection. While prooflike examples exist, this 1870 displays a scant hint of cameo on the obverse while the reverse features consistent satin texture everywhere. Under a good lamp, one discovers broad swaths of orange over the pale golden surface. One abrasion in the obverse right field and very few trivial nicks on the reverse determine the grade.
