Description: 79 graded PR-67, 25 higher at PCGS. Philadelphia struck 1,514 proof nickels of the type-2 variety in 1913, almost exactly equaling the 1,520 examples struck in type-1 format prior. This is an utterly exemplary nickel showing exquisite preservation and of course, the amazing technical wizardry that led to an extremely sharp strike. The most trivial of details are brought up fully, including careful delineation of the split in the end of the bison's tail. Salmon-grey and bright silvery tones dominate the obverse while the reverse shows intermingling orange, steely blue and golden hues.
