Lot Title: 1836 Reeded Edge PCGS MS-63 CACCAC
Lot Number: 799
Description: The First Through Last Collection. GR-1. Specialists are only now getting used to Dick Graham attributions of reeded-edge half dollars, with GR-1 being the only die-marriage for 1836. Since there is no challenge with regard to 1836, the collector relies on die-state to add some spice to the search. This appears to be a late die-state example, with a tiny die crack crossing the first "T" of STATES, as well as an apostrophe-shaped dentil between ES OF on the reverse. Most of the surface displays pewter-grey patina, but splashed above and below the portrait and throughout peripheral areas of the reverse are moss-green and turquoise accents that truly augment a charming, original presentation for the viewer. Trivial scattered abrasions obviously account for the grade.
