Description: Overton-146, curl base 2. Relatively common, 1827 with the curled base "2" is considered by many collectors to be more aesthetically pleasing than the far more common square-base die-marriages. O-147 offers the only other possibility for the same logotype in the date. A delightful, mint-state and decidedly lustrous example, this specimen offers pale Arctic-blue shading over the silvery surface that does not at all inhibit appreciation of relatively sharp design elements. Waves of hair over the ear and the area below and left of the eagle's shield are not sharply defined -- unusual for O-146, which is frequently well struck.
