Lot Title: 1903-S PCGS MS-64
Lot Number: 762
Description: Knock Knock Collection. 258 graded MS-64, 231 higher at PCGS. The cataloger feels the actual number of PCGS grading incidents is well overstated for unique examples of the 1903-S dollar -- the issue has long been known as a key date in mint-state grades and even a small upgrade can be worth multiples of the cost of certification. Thus, even with a population alleged to number in the hundreds, a well-produced and attractive 1903-S commands attention at any appropriate market setting.

Dense luster provides considerably better flashiness than what is often seen, undoubtedly due in part to a fabulous strike that misses perfection by very little. Although generally bright and brilliant, several small breaths of tan show here and there on either side. A shiny, erratic abrasion lands just right of the fourth and fifth stars, but Liberty has an almost clean cheek and there are no other individually mentionable marks.
