Description: VAM-11, Top-100. One wishes NGC would have provided the easy-to-attribute VAM on the certification band as this is a popular and well-known variety with laced wings on the reverse. The die-state seems later than that shown in the reference as light die cracks on the reverse have developed to the point of connecting most peripheral letters. An exceptional specimen, both sides remain free from the scuffling bagmarks almost always seen for 1878-CC and the obverse right field appears completely abrasion-free. Incredibly well struck and somewhat prooflike.
