Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1876-CC Trade PCGS MS-62 (green label)
Lot Number: 529
Description: High Promises Collection. Type I / II, tall mintmark, Breen-5806. Considered "the right" die-marriage to represent 1876-CC because this appears to be the most available variety for the date. That said, the cataloger deems population reports unreliable for 1876-CC due to how varieties might have been separately reported in the past.

Breen suggests these are usually found in lower grades, and for sure, numerous examples have chop marks, limiting the supply of straight-graded mint-state pieces. A very sharp strike adorns both sides of this example, marred slightly by bagmarks, including some on Liberty's lowered hand. The surface exhibits eggshell coloration, slightly opaque and delicately hairlined, while the lack of luster stems from heavily polished obverse fields.
