Description: Conrad Sophasath Collection. The First National Bank of Normal, Illinois. Prior to recent discovery of this plainback ten, the census showed three notes, none of which to the cataloger's knowledge is as nice or as intriguing. This note features considerable selvage along the top and thereby very broad margins overall surrounding crisp, extremely-fine quality. As the only issuer in town, acquiring a note from Normal has proven elusive from many of the great collections of Illinois nationals, including Lonnon, Shaw and Herget.
