Lot Title: 1909-S VDB Lincoln PCGS MS-65RD
Lot Number: 1006
Description: Andrew Davidson Collection. The brightest jewel in any gem collection of Lincoln cents, the 1909-S VDB needs no introduction here as it has been coveted by collectors and numismatists for innumerable decades. Along comes this fully lustrous and fully red-orange example that features a powerful strike off of later dies, as can be inferred by crumbling of Victor D. Brenner's initials on the reverse. Fewer than a handful of trivial nicks on the face are not even worth mentioning since on balance, the surface remains expertly free from abrasions. A coin destined for a first-class cabinet of the venerable series.
