Description: 4 graded MS-64+, 30 higher at NGC. In high grade, the collector inevitably confronts a very limited pool of 1925-S nickels from which to make a selection. The meager strike details seen here are also typically encountered as this is a well-known strike-deficient key within the series. This example was taken off of dies so heavily eroded that the mintmark barely shows within the corrupted field. On a positive note, satin luster predominates over butterscotch-silver and pinkish surfaces, but a modest detraction that may have been deemed passable by CAC is an isolated, sliding scrape down from the bison's hump.
