Lot Title: 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter PCGS MS-63FH (green label)
Lot Number: 824
Description: Ms. Anna's Collection. While a little shy of being truly fully struck, there is no denying that Liberty's facial details and the presence of most of the hair delineation leads to the correct "full head" designation ascribed by PCGS. The dies may have been reasonably fresh as they were able to elicit the majority of the possible detailing, and also left an impression of matte texture within all the fields.

Back in the day, one might expect a coin of this caliber to "politically graded", which is to say, certified so as not to distort expected population numbers, but here, the grade fits almost ideally given reasonably active luster and commendable almond-grey patina. The cataloger could find no distracting contact marks, and even twin nicks on the knee are not meaningful. On the reverse, one pinprick invades the eagle's tail feathers but nothing else bears notice on that side.
