Description: Bert Davies Collection. VAM-2. The first "1" in the date shows plain doubling left. Details seem almost perfectly struck at first inspection until one discovers faint roller marks on the cheek. The slightly imperfect strike may be partially explained by nice strike doubling on the reverse -- perhaps the dies were "bouncing" during production. A gorgeous, well frosted example with dashes of bronze toning that enhance excellent visual appeal.
