Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1847 RPD and DDO FS-801 PCGS MS-62 CACCAC
Lot Number: 931
Description: Rum'n'Cola Collection. Briggs 2-A. 4 graded MS-62, 17 higher at PCGS. "FS-801" indicated on the slab has been annoyingly obscured in part by the CAC sticker, but PCGS also indicates RPD and DDR on the slab -- both true statements of the well-researched Briggs variety. "7" in the date has been clearly repunched left, and QUAR DOL and the design elements right above it show excellent doubling. Russet-orange endows the obverse and shades into husky magenta-grey on the reverse, but even through the toning, one can see the coin was likely semi-prooflike when first struck and still untoned. A precisely detailed example that seems a bit nicer than the assigned grade.
