Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1841-O NGC MS-64
Lot Number: 868
Description: Rum'n'Cola Collection. 3 graded MS-64, 4 higher at NGC. When one can locate a mint-state 1841-O at all, chances are it will derive from the small group found in Fort Harrison (Clearwater), Florida, an installation which served out its purpose as a health facility during the Second Seminole War. At any rate, this example atypically shows bright bone-white surfaces, compared to most UNC examples, which are typically toned. Also typical of the date is a fairly well struck obverse mated to a reverse showing weakness at the eagle's head and left (observed) talon. A satin-laden example, the surface evades contact and also shows nicer strike doubling on the reverse.
