Description: L.S. Consignment. Contrary to myriad AU-58 examples that seem almost dull by comparison to the famous high-appeal of earlier San Francisco strikes, this specimen falls almost right in line with those 1879-S through 1883-S emissions. A very good strike, now softened by very slight wear, produced sparkling mint luster and excellent eye-appeal. A mere touch of wear creates a bit of friction in the fields and gentle rub on the ear, while the reverse shies from mint-state merely by the breadth of a hair. Brilliant and ready to plug into a mint-state collection.
