Description: Junior Decker Collection. 339 graded MS-68, 33 graded MS-68 "star", 20 higher at NGC. Drenched in liquid aluminum-steel toning, this coin emits astonishing quality from every viewing angle. As with the other early 80s San Francisco issues, 1880-S often shows semi-prooflike characteristics but this particular example offers fully brilliant luster. Almost perfectly struck, the two threads over the ear show only slight merging. A minor surface nick at the obverse far right provides the most important grading determinant.
