Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1911-D Strong D PCGS MS-63
Lot Number: 328
Description: While hundreds of 1911-D quarter eagles have been certified at the choice grade level, it remains the undisputed king of the series owing mostly to a very low mintage of only 55,680 pieces. This mustard-gold example features a bold, clear mintmark as attested by the PCGS "Strong D" nomenclature, and sharpness everywhere else exceeds expectations. Delicate greyish patina layers each side, being mildly more noticeable on the reverse. Despite advice to "buy the keys first", 1911-D is often the final coin a collector adds to his collection of Indians and finishing off such a set with a Choice BU piece like this will speak volumes to one's aspirations.
