Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1867 PCGS MS-66 (green label)
Lot Number: 307
Description: New Scotland Consignment. Mintage: 5200. 3 graded MS-67, 2 higher at PCGS. NGC also knows of only a handful of examples in the MS-66/7 range, placing this remarkable gold dollar among the very finest known. Truly prooflike examples exist, but this coin, taken off of middle state dies, shows minimal reflectivity against thickly frosted portraits. Much steel bluish iridescence lends three-dimensional character to the presentation. As usual, taken off of nicely clashed dies that created a fully legible LIBERTY on the lower reverse.
