Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1919-S PCGS MS-64
Lot Number: 1007
Description: Junior Decker Collection. 210 graded MS-64, 60 higher at PCGS. Hands-down better struck than usual for the date, LIBERTY stands free and clear from the rim, which often is not the case for other examples taken off of aged dies. Indeed, the obverse overall appears rather decently struck as compared to the reverse, where extensive die deterioration shows. Still, the bison received a full horn and most of the tail, and considerable detail shows within the hide's intricacies. The population report, aside from many regrades, might not impress at first glance but bear in mind the tremendous popularity of the series and realize that there are not nearly enough nicer certified 1919-S nickels to go around.
