Lot Title: 1893 Isabella PCGS MS-67 CACCAC
Lot Number: 902
Description: The Blackhawk Collection. Mintage: 24,214. 52 graded MS-67, 19 higher at PCGS. The eye-appeal perhaps speaks for itself for this mind-boggling Isabella quarter. It immediately earns a Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award since the palette of turquoise-orange, spearmint-gold, russet and crimson-olive toning climbs off the charts of aesthetic beauty. When well preserved, the Isabella quarter will always provide great luster, but the aggressive windmilling effect here has few rivals. Put a loupe on the surface and the observer will try in vain to locate any distractions whatsoever. The rich, originally saturated color hides a pair of linear abrasions at 6:00 that are the only obstacle to MS-68. The Isabella quarter was struck to honor Queen Isabella, and to recognize the Board of Lady Managers at the Columbian Exposition, and this particular example was preserved for the collector of the prettiest available coins.
