Description: 58 graded MS-66, 17 higher at PCGS. Obviously important as the first and only 5-cent piece struck in Denver, the 1912-D population in high grade suffers also from attrition in spite of a high mintage. This example shows a very good obverse strike against a decent reverse with the usual soft spots. Coral-orange throws in helpings of neon-violet and a hint of magenta over outstanding mint luster.
