Lot Title: 1834 Large Date, Large Letters MS-62
Lot Number: 688
Description: Nicholas Jackson Collection. Overton-101. An astonishing proof example (graded NGC PR-67) was taken off of the earliest dies, and even this example must have been struck relatively early since the stars have not yet drawn to the edge as seen on later struck coins. Recutting at the upright of "5" on the reverse makes attribution quick and easy. A truly beautiful coin, the ancient and highly desirable ANACS slab has encouraged charming denim-blue and cobalt hues around the rim as well as pleasing, pastel crimson-peach within the fields.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
