Lot Title: 1827 Curl 2 MS-63
Lot Number: 661
Description: Nicholas Jackson Collection. Overton-146 (R.4), "curl base 2". Two reverses mated against a single obverse die with a curled base on the two, this reverse showing the lengthy vertical line through the right of the shield. O-146 is far the more available of the two die-marriages and nearly always satisfies this Redbook entry into a popular variety collection. Frosty, sparling cartwheel effect shimmers across both obverse and reverse, suffused with prodigious lavender and mulberry-orange hues. A highly appealing, early obverse retains evidence of hand-finishing of several lower curls in the die itself.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
