Lot Title: 1824/1 O-101a PCGS MS-62 (rattler) CACCAC
Lot Number: 645
Description: Nicholas Jackson Collection. Overton-101a, "1824/1". Die cracks partially encircling the reverse suggest the late die-state, but PCGS failed to even identify the popular overdate on the early slab insert, much less any other useful attribution data. However, the grade offered fits spot-on given near-choice quality that includes decent satin-laden luster and seemingly highly original surfaces. Orange-bronze toning seizes hold of the periphery but quickly yields to platinum-grey internally; this coin might well take on remarkable color if left in an album (where the curmudgeonly among us would say it belongs). Adequately struck and showing only typical delicate abrasions for MS-62.
