Description: Balba Stir Collection. 131 graded MS-67, 3 graded MS-67 "star", 17 higher at NGC. Saved in bag hoard quantities, the 1883 nevertheless has nowhere near the superb gem presence as some of the common dates (think 1881-S) and utterly pristine, gorgeous white roll-fresh examples like this are flat out rare. As is often noted, both dies plainly show evidence of die rust as innumerable tiny raised pimples that create an interesting matte effect for the devices. A highly precise, blistering strike for this frosted specimen.
