Description: Gigi Consignment. When found in high grade, these are dates that typically show up in fully prooflike format. Therefore, moderately circulated examples like this pairing offer the truest "circulation strike" presentation. 1885 features astoundingly original, even graphite-grey patina, perfectly layered over both side in consistent, even manner from edge to edge. 1888, also strikingly original, generally follows suit but throws splashes of darker ashy-grey into the obverse and reverse fields. An utterly exceptional two coin lot.
