Lot Title: 1795 PCGS AU-50
Lot Number: 785
Description: The Crimson Collection. Logan-McCloskey-8 (R.3). An incredible NGC MS-67 PL example exists for LM-8, which is not to state that this is a comparable coin, but the die-state appears to be identical, including the faint die crack that connects ITE on the reverse. For a denomination that frequently shows up with problems, this is an amazingly unimpaired example that has hardly any distracting marks requiring mention, aside from a pair of very shallow abrasions on the lower neck. True, more than the typical number of adjustment marks crisscross the portrait (the planchet must have started out well oversized), but they are an integral part of early production of silver and gold coinage, and to a true collector, will only add to the vintage appeal.
