Description: VAM-18. 1887-S may be a date not frequently mined by casual VAM collectors, but there are several interesting varieties, including the present one. The reference shows a nice images of a tiny die break above the second "U" of UNUM, but doesn't really discuss the apparent very nice doubling of "88" in the date. A beautiful example at the very gem level, some semi-prooflike attributes take full advantage of sparkling fields, an exceptionally clean cheek and a near-spectacular strike.
